UCLA CAMPUS EVENTS COMMISSION

The UCLA Campus Events Commission (CEC) has been one of the largest purveyors of campus entertainment in the nation since its 1965 inception. Programming film sneaks, international film festivals, speaking engagements, or concerts, CEC is constantly in search of that which is as evocative and diverse as its audience. Serving in multiple capacities for this incredible organization, I had the opportunity to lead CEC into a new era of programming while continuing its traditions and reviving its most historic events.
As Commissioner:

• I oversaw over 60 staffers, 65+ events, and $250,000 budget

• I identified a new need within the organization, and built an entire staff from the ground up, Web Development. This group of programmers work with our designers to produce amazing content from our Bruin Bash website to our homepage to even a few fun games for students along the way. 

• I remodeled the General Marketing staff, and developed it into Public Relations, a staff that could now have the name credo, staff skills, and vision to bring CEC to an even wider reach while also maintaining our media relations.

• I preserved and worked on reviving the historic Jack Benny and Spencer Tracy awards, honors that have seen many a legend grace the Royce Hall stage. By reigniting relationships with old alumni, building a web team that could begin preserving the history on a website, and making hundreds of cold calls, I am so proud to say that these awards will once again grace UCLA's campus and will continue to do so for years to come.

My time on staff was an experience I will never forget, and what it taught me about talent relations, the film industry, event planning, project management, leadership, and just having fun is something I can never forget.
