STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS LA

Two years ago, a little movie called STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS was due to arrive in theaters. Now, being that it was a fairly small production with little name recognition, we knew we really had to make a splash on campus to get the buzz going and maintained. 

We looked at the season UCLA students were about to approach, the ever looming finals, and developed an activation that appealed to studiers and rabid film fans alike. Enter: Star Wars Coffee Cart. With specialty branded cups, potential for limited edition merchandise, and a chance to intimately interact with a franchise either for the first time or the hundredth, we were able to successfully activate the most visited location on campus. Over 200 people were in line before we even began! By partnering with Campus Events Commission, we were able to further tap into a market of over 20,000 by using their marketing outreach on social media and through a newsletter. Include the social media traction gained by the #ForceAwakensLA promotion as well as the nearly 30,000 people that pass through Bruin Walk every day, and that's a lot of people getting wired (ba-dum tschh) for the continuation of a legacy.
